There was another volunteer on my flight to George – Donna. We were met by the Vol team and had a wimpy whilst waiting for another 2 vols coming in on the next flight – Sarah and Louisa . We were then taken to the supermarket to get some shopping and were then joined by 3 more vols , Lena, Tony and Garnet – everyone seems really nice.
The drive through the Garden Route is beautiful with hills covered with trees and sea the other side – very green – mountains in the background.
when we got to the park we dropped one person off at the bunk house and saw the herd of elephants coming over the hill with some baby ones 🙂 it was a wonderful sight. The rest of us are at the main house. I am sharing a room with 2 other ladies – older than me – Donna from Oregon and Sandy from Norfolk who has already been here 2 weeks. The accommodation is ‘interesting ‘ but comfortable – we went to see the elephants from a distance in their night enclosure – tomorrow we start at 6.30am where we will meet the elephants close up so will take pics ! 🙂
*joke of the day…
Q: What does Tarzan say when he sees a herd of elephants in the distance?
A: “Look, a herd of elephants in the distance”
Q: What does Tarzan say when he sees a herd of elephants with sunglasses
A: Nothing. He doesn’t recognize them.
Good luck for your first day. Can’t wait for pics xx
