Sally the matiarch of the herd. she was born in 1989 and saved from culling in Kruger National park

Nandi means 'a sweet thing' in Zulu - 2nd largest female born in 1993 and came to the park in 2002 - very good mother to Thandi

Keisha means 'favourite ' and she is my favourite - born in 2003 she arrived at the park in 2004 and was close to dying ; her mother had died during a translocation and Keisha had tried to suckle from others and sustained several injuries including holes in her ears - she has made a full recovery and settled into her new home

Mashudu means 'lucky' in Venda he was born in 2007. His parents were killed on a hunting farm in the North West province

Thato seen here on the left (with Keisha) means 'beloved' in Tswana - born in 2007 she is the youngest, smallest elephant - she arrived at the park with Mashudu after her parents suffered the same fate
